Why would you smoke in the drive thru??? (self.starbucksbaristas)

We had a lady demanded a refund because i told her to put out her cigarette. She said "Well it's my car." And I said yes, and it's in our drive thru and pointed to the no smoking sign. I swear, more and more they show that they truly do not think of us as people. Why would I want to breathe your secondhand smoke??

At that point I just shut the window. It's rude and I don't like tolerating people's BS. My coworkers seem to think it's okay to just ignore it but I hate smoke with a passion and will not connect with a customer that is blowing smoke into my face. Sorry not sorry 🤷

lol one time a gas line busted in our drive thru and we didn’t know til someone pointed out the smell and when the utility guy came he said if someone would have lit a cigarette they woulda gone up

I’m 7 months pregnant and got yelled at by a woman in drive for asking her to please stop smoking at the widow. Our customers are the textbook definition of entitlement😂

I used to work at a gas station and I pulled up one day to, I shit you not, a group of guys trying to jump a car while smoking cigarettes in front of a gas pump. Hell naw...

last time I worked drive and someone was smoking their cigarette. I just leaned near the window. Watching them. I didn’t open it. I just watched them. They eventually got the hint.. if you’re a good customer. I’ll go above and beyond for you. If you’re meh. I treat you with Meh. 🤷♀️

One time a kid in the back seat puffed his vape in my face and I just gave him the nastiest look and he just laughed. Not as bad as cigarette smoke but still disrespectful.

I've gotten to a point where whenever I have to deal with this I dont bat an eye anymore because it happens so frequently.
It's so much worse than just one cig tho - sometimes I have full groups of adults in vans puffing on their vapes as if they were trying to hotbox, as if it's any sort of impressive.
Like are you really this much of a slave to your addictions that you cant show a little respect to someone who doesnt smoke & is in your proximity?

My only thing with vapes is that at least I don’t have to deal with the consequences of them vaping. It doesn’t smell bad and second hand smoke is decreased significantly. I don’t really care if they want to destroy their lungs, just leave me out of it.

That's why we have no smoking policies. Our health and comfort matters too. Also they could probably sue for medical bills to the person, but not the bux.

my manager told us we’re allowed to shut the window. so we did shut the window on this guy that was smoking a cigarette and he blew his smoke very aggressively at the window after it was shut.🙄needless to say i was really mad and he’s glad i was on bar and not window.
