Protected Sick Time - Question (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hello! I woke up with terrible abdominal pain but I really can’t afford missing my shift today. I have 27 hrs of “protected sick time” on my portal, but I’m not sure how this works?
If I call in and tell them I don’t feel well enough to work will I get sick pay? Or will I not be paid for the day? I can’t miss out on the pay for my 7 hour shift but I really don’t think I will feel good enough to work today.

you will get paid so long as you write it in the DRB under sick time when you’re back!
