How do I apply online for shift supervisor? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 576711JNh
The question I’m having problems with is Have you ever been a Starbucks Partner or Contingent Worker? Options are previously contingent worker currently contingent worker previous Starbucks partner and no. Mind you that I’ll be working at the store for a year and half now and was told that needed to online

For my promotion, I just put that I was a partner (previous)
I kinda looked at it as if I was a “new” applicant.
I got promoted so it worked lol

You find a listing for Shift Supervisor online at starbucks.com/careers and you apply.

When I do that do I said that I’m Contingent Worker

Why would you say you were a contingent worker? I don't think anybody under Starbucks is contingent unless there's something up on the corporate level.

Contingent means temp, usually hired for the duration of a large project or something similar.

The question says have you ever been a Starbucks partner or contingent worker? The options are not specified, current contingent worker, previous Contingent Worker , and no. Mind you I have been currently at the store for year and half

If you're looking to promote in your store/district, you need to speak to your SM, not apply online lol that's looking at past history stuff, not current status.

So I believe you can't just apply to be a shift right off the bat- you have to be a barista for a bit before you're eligible to be a SSV. Talk to the store manager of the store you're working at (or wish to work at), as the process can vary by location. There's no certain amount of time you need to be a barista in order to become a shift, I don't think. You just gotta know your stuff. They'll have you go through a special training to become an SSV if they do decide to promote you to one.

You can apply to be a shift if you weren’t a barista. I was an outside hire shift myself.

Like I said, it's different by the area 😅 where I am, we don't do outside hires, so that was from my perspective!
