I had a Partner as me if I REALLY needed the day I asked for off or if I can take her shift that day.

I was like...Ma'am. I asked for it off for a reason. Girl bye.

😂

One partner constantly asks me for my Sunday's (Often times I say no cause I take doubles and am close to 40 hours) like I need a day off to do my laundry and rest. Hence my partner be thinking of every excuse to not show up the following. -\_-

Glad you put your foot down! I used to feel bad saying no so I would over work myself. Now that I'm doing full time ASU and working at least 25 hours including weekends, I barely spend time with my husband who works a regular 9-5. I figured asking for a Sunday off here and there to spend quality time with my husband won't hurt the store. 🤷‍♀️

Same, I'd offered next week Sunday (she didn't say OK, or anything) but yea, I rarely call out / switches. Plus I'm doing enough (Plus more!) to cover and help out, I just do what I can to help my partners at the end. (plus, I have a new manager who acting up, so I'm just going to see how my next week pay stub is, If not close to 40 as I did and wrote on the book, then I'm leaving at my time on the dot!)

I usually get kinda tilted when my Saturday shift gets taken and people have learnt to not request for shifts on that day 😳

That or talk to your manager so she won't put you down on a day you want off in the future calander (Heck doing this you won't have to use a unpaid day / vacation day)

I had coworkers eating their oatmeal like a super villain, just looking at me to guilt me in to taking their shift.

Do not ever feel bad for not covering shifts! That exposes the store’s true needs so they can be taken care of instead of always trying to fill a leaky bucket.

I only cover shifts if I have no plans and do need the extra money. Often times when I do, I ask for their coffee mark out (My services don't come cheap. Especially if you asking me and I know you don't use your mark out at all. So it's a fair trade. You get a free day; I get more money, tips and your mark out.)

me: walks into my shift

5 different people within the first hour: i see that you're not working on friday, what are you doing that day?

Literally. When I go back to get food, everyone is already looking at the schedule and immediately eye me. "Oh can I take your Tuesday and you can get my Thursday? I got something to do." (Basically they want my free day and in return I get their work Tues and Thursday -\_- ) It's funny to cause I do openings and often time my partners plan is to party (club) like, you need the morning and afternoon to ready up for a night party? bruh.
