I worked at Starbucks about 10 years ago. I wasn’t there terribly long, about 6 months. I was moving and there was only one Starbucks where I was going and they weren’t hiring so I couldn’t transfer. It wasn’t a big deal, I went into restaurants/hotels during that time. With Corona my job was a mess and I’ve finally given up on being able to rely on them to bring me back to my full time with benefits position where I was paid hourly plus tips. I’ve been working part time retail but the pay is terrible and there’s no room for advancement/raises/overtime, etc. Starbucks was hiring at the location in my mall parking lot so I applied and I’m interviewing next week. Everything I’ve done since working for Starbucks is applicable, serving and bartending and supervisor roles. I’ve even served partial Starbucks menus at the hotel bars I’ve worked in. But other than still being able to steam milk and make basic lattes I don’t know anything about Starbucks currently. I really rarely even go to Starbucks myself, if it’s on sale I buy the Starbucks K-cups but that’s as close as it gets. My only observation is that they don’t wear only khaki and black anymore thank god. Is it still bi-weekly pay with a weekly cash tip out? I remember working at a fast pace was a priority when I was there. Their big push was Via (?) the instant coffee. This was before any of the apps and mobile ordering.
