I have a regular come in almost every day because he works in the area. Super polite older man who gets the same thing everyday. There was a crowd before him ordered but he just gets a black iced coffee so i had it ready when he paid. I hand off and he tells me its been a rough couple of days but I'm always so nice to him that it made him feel a little better. I said, "I try my very best sir, that's why I'm here." As he was leaving he made sure to tell me bye and thank me for always being nice. I kind of had a Wow moment because that's what I love about this job. It makes it worth it to know the simple act of remembering this mans order and being kind made his whole day.
Obviously we get shitty customers but damn if that wasn't uplifting. I just wish all customers came in with his attitude. The baristas aren't rude, we're just sick of being treated like we're subhuman.

Interactions like that are what keeps me going. The fact that I can literally change someone’s day with a cup of coffee. Or the smile on someone’s face when they take the first sip of a drink I recommended to them.

Once had a woman pick up a mobile and try it and thank me because it was perfect just how she liked it. She was so happy that it made me happy too.

I am just a green bean on her first full month of working and I've had this kind of interaction already. One regular lady who comes through the drive. She was telling me about her life, and the struggles with her dad, and I do not want to go in too many details since this is online since it is really heavy stuff. Main thing is she was stressed/sad emotional, and she thanked me to just be ears to listen to her, and she loves her few minutes "Starbucks therapy" as she called it. She told me how much it helps her get through her day.
Yesterday I had a gentleman come in and tell be about his buddy and how just had a stroke, so he didn't want to get him like coffee, but something sweet that tasted pretty good to help cheer his buddy up. I thought about it and was like oh this one has a flavor I really enjoy and it has no coffee in it at all, so I really hope your friend enjoys it. I made notes to write his buddies name on the top of his cup and like a little note to try to help his buddy feel better. The guy was so appreciative of what I did to help he wanted to give me a pretty big direct tip was about $30, but I didn't think I could so I just put it in the tip jar after he left. I didn't know if there was even any way I could have accepted the tip he wanted to give me personally because of what I did to help him and his buddy have a better day. This man was also so sweet since he asked my name and I was like Sera, he was like "OH like the angel Seraphim" I was like actually yes exactly that. Sera is a nickname of my name Seraphim. It is customers like this that make my day better because of how kind and caring, and appreciative they are of what we do to help them out.

I have a now regular who’s here because of work and stays at the hotel across the street for the remainder of the months he’s working up here. He has a super thick Louisiana accent and is honestly one of the nicest people who come in. Because he isn’t comfortable ordering as he doesn’t know what everything is called or what it is that my manager made him the first time he came in, he talked to me about what he was looking for. “It’s somethin’ keto and fat milk and sugar free. Oh I don’t know”. So I whipped him up a venti iced coffee with sugar free vanilla and heavy cream. Now he knows that when my manager isn’t there to make his drink and I’m there, I always have it ready for him. It’s nice when customers light up from you just remembering one thing. The bad ones make it hard to remember the good about the job.

I have a regular that is never happy with her bev, it was remade twice and while I’m remaking it for the 3rd time I tell her I’d like to also get her a refund, she told me to take her refund and go to ulta to fix my face. I’m so glad there are regulars out there that are nice happy peaceful people, treasure them.

There is one regular that comes to mind. She comes through the drive and every time I’m at window, she takes the time to ask me how things are going and how my day has been, and she calls me by my name. It’s insignificant small talk but it always leaves me a lot happier than before she comes in. It’s the little things

I was called thoughtful by one of the regulars because I made sure to give him a fork and some folded napkins with his blueberry muffin. It wasn't any trouble and I was more than happy to do it. It was kind to heat especially since I had recently started at this store and the regulars were getting used to me
