So the timer gets set differently based on how many coffees you’re brewing, and you only brew one coffee each time the timer goes off. This keeps one brewer available in case you need to make iced coffee backups or a traveler
As far as starting the timer before or after, i don’t think it really matters, but I think technically it’s supposed to be before
Order doesn’t really matter either as long as you’re consistent.
So if you’re doing three coffees , you’ll set the timer for 10 minutes. When it first goes off, you’ll brew pike. Then, you’ll do other stuff and when it goes off again you’ll brew blonde. then again with dark. Then you’re back to pike in the 30 min time frame.

When I have questions about this the SM and SSV (in two different instances) referred me to Batch Guidance on the iPad which suggests to me that they do not really know either. Batch guidance also keeps track of when you quit brewing blonde and dark and switch to only Pike every 30 minutes. But before you dump the blonde and dark, grind some along with some decaf to use for pour overs and mark and date the containers
