Is there a way to get notified when the schedule is uploaded? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by purpsle
Green bean here, and i’m wondering if there’s a better way to keep track of my schedule. Normally I check it on Sunday for the next week, but last week my SM didn’t publish the schedule for this week until Friday. I checked it and saw that I was off today, then checked again this morning (to see about next week’s schedule) and was shocked to see that it was completely different from when I checked a couple days ago, and that now I have to work today. I was not notified of this by my SM or anybody; I’m glad I checked or I would’ve had no idea that the schedule is now different than it was 48 hours ago. There’s got to be a better way to manage this, right? Is there some way I could get email alerts when the schedule is posted?

They aren’t supposed to change schedules last minute without getting your approval/notififying you.

Didn’t think so. I’m pissed, honestly; if he had asked, I probably would’ve said yes. But I made plans today and now I can’t do them. He’s been out of the store for a week because he’s sick and is completely unreachable; he hasn’t replied to anyone’s texts or emails in over a week. I know this isn’t a super big deal, but I’m mad.

It is a big deal because they are not supposed to do that and this opens the door to them constantly modifying your schedule without notifying you. My new manager has been doing this to me for the past few weeks, lied to my face and said it’s a “glitch”. Clearly it’s not, so be cautious in dealing with this manager.

Like the other poster said, this is not supposed to happen. Start having proof of the schedules changes because in many places, changing a schedule like that is against the law.
