What shoes do you think are better for work @ Starbucks? I really don’t wanna get one when the other could’ve been better(reddit.com)

Go to Walmart, buy a 30 dollar pair of nonslip waterproof working shoes, that's my recommendation.

Went to the sketchers store since we get like 30% off as a barista. Got a great pair of shoes for 35$

You really don't need or want expensive shoes for Starbucks, they're going to get so messed up and no one will even see them

if you really want docs, id recommend the boots. breaking them in is nowhere near as painful as the first pair. i own both, and the first pair, no matter how many socks or bandaids i put, my heel was left completely raw
Sunbirdsoup6 points2y ago
The first pair is going to blister like fuuuuck. Also stuff can get in your shoes with a low cut like that. Im buying boots myself. And go for the softer leathers so it doesnt hurt to break them in

Thank you! I have something to protect the back of my foot for that but it just seems easier and more comfortable to get the boots.

Tred safe. $30 from Walmart. They do come wide if you have wide feet.
They're anti-slip, comfortable, and (get this) have anti-fatigue soles... apparently. I have noticed (since I've started wearing them) that my feet are less tired so maybe it works?

I wear timberlands because if I’m wearing those shoes for 10+ hours a day 6 days a week then they better hold up. I spend money on shoes because if my feet hurt then I’m not a nice person. Plus high tops keep you from getting tea spilled into your shoes half way through your shift.

i wear the boots with a random like extra comfort insole from the drug store and honestly, even though they’re not technically nonslip ive never had an issue with that, my feet rarely hurt too bad (compared to my back pain from sbux at least..), they look good with all my work outfits AND i’ve spilled everything from hot coffee to mocha sauce to dragonfruit inclusions on myself and i’ve never had my socks get wet at all in them. IMO they’re probably not the perfect work shoe, (i tie mine really tight so they stay tied on the floor and i actually have bruises on the tops of my feet from that) they’re a really good option if you want shoes that look good and you’ll be able to wear lots outside of work

Those look way too nice for working at Starbucks where you will inevitably spill on them.
Comfort, durability, economics are the goal. No one will be looking at your shoes.
Don’t cheap out for sure, you need to treat your feet like gold and cheap shoes will give you blisters and don’t provide support. Plus they’ll fall apart and long term you’ll spend more replacing them than getting one good pair.
Clarks have been the gold standard for a long time for comfortable work shoes, but they can be a bit pricey. Worth it IMO. When I worked retail those babies were like clouds and held up beautifully for years.

I wear the first ones and my feet hurt sometimes after a long shift but I feel bomb as hell.
Real review: I have oxford style docs that I wear to work and they're fine. There isn't arch support and the toebox is a little narrow for me but they're mostly comfy once you've broken them in. The shoes don't make my feet hot or anything and I've worn them a lot this summer. They aren't nonslip so you'll have to keep that in mind when walking around. I can't recommend them for work because of the lack of arch support and the fact they aren't nonslip, but I wear them and I'm alive so.
Also as I'm finishing this up, I realized the boot might be better because it'll protect you more from hot spills, but go for whatever you think will be more comfy for you.

Please invest in non slip shoes. I’ve seen too many coworkers get injured from slipping
curlystar14 [OP]2 points2y ago
Yeah sadly I tried purchasing non slip shoes for an affordable price and they ended up breaking open in the front. Now that I’m acrually making money, I’m trying to get a pair of non slip dr martens to avoid that happening again

i’ve used both, but i like the taller boots better! i find its way less likely that i’ll get something in my boot.
