i keep having second thoughts about quitting (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by denahom-chikn
i got a much better paying job with more hours and a consistent schedule. i constantly feel disrespected and like i can never do anything right here. i dread coming to work every day, yet i’m still having so many second thoughts on quitting🙃

Omg just quit. You will be so happy. If you don’t want to do it face to face then send an email.

Dude you already got a better paying job with regular a schedule? Show up to work, get your last free markouts, then hand your written two weeks notice to the manager or supervisor and leave. Easy peezy. Quitting Starbucks is the best thing I’ve done for my mental health and physical well being in years.

Just rip off the bandaid and quit. It’s worth it

You can keep starbucks on the side as a side job. That’s what I’m planning to do when I get my IT certificate.

if my new job wasn’t 7-5:30 m-f i would totally keep the bux on the side. i just want to have time to do stuff i want to do and i honestly can’t justify working one shift a week

Nvm then. Lol didn’t know sorry
denahom-chikn [OP] 2 points 2y ago
no need to apologize! the scheduling wasn’t in the original post, so you had no way to know:)

I got a full time job with benefits and it’s been so much less stressful than even being a barista was, plus I’m making almost as much money as I did as a supervisor. Literally the only thing I miss is the free Spotify lol

tbh if you already have a better paying job with a consistent schedule, I don’t see the point in staying with starbucks if you don’t need it. you’ll be so much happier i guarantee

that’s my thought process. starbucks (and other coffee shops) will always be there if i end up missing it that much or end up needing extra income at some point in the future

That’s just the siren stockholm syndrome talking, ignore it and congrats on the new job 😊
