I just started at Starbucks about 3 weeks ago. I finished the online work
then I started training which was only 4 days and I didn’t really get any hands on experience. For 2 of the 4 training days I was only working DT. Now I’m onto the real stuff and I’m just doing so bad. Whenever I’m on bar, I’m behind on so many drinks because I don’t really know how to make them or sequence the order. I study the recipes, but when it’s in front of me my mind just blinks it all out. Other partners are super helpful, but I know how annoying it can get especially while they’re trying to do they’re own thing. I just feel really bad about being a burden and work in general.

it takes most baristas 3-6 months to feel comfortable, so don’t feel bad! you are trying your best and asking for help when you need it so you’re doing great. everything comes with practice! if it ever slows down at your location, see if a more experience barista can watch you to help you learn sequencing as that’s something that does take a conscious effort to practice
