Not pregnant, but chronically ill, so know some of the medical things. The biggest thing I can tell you is to advocate for yourself. If you’re not comfortable/physically able to do something, do not. your health trumps any job, your baby’s health trumps any job. You have to take care of yourself first.

As for everything else, ask questions. I’ve been with SBUX for 8 months, and I still don’t know everything

Take all your breaks. Ask for them if you have to. Even if it’s just 10 minutes of getting off your feet.
You may have to go up a size or half a size in work shoes depending on whether standing makes your feet swell. Bring the larger shoes with you and change if half way through the shift you feel your feet hurting. Compression socks.

Be prepared for guests to think commenting on your pregnancy/body is appropriate.

Please take it easy! I worry so much about our pregnant baristas. This is by no means an easy job- it is extremely labor intensive and do not be afraid to put you and your baby health first. Sbux will work you until you drop (depending on your store and SSV of course). Don’t be afraid to ask to be not put on certain positions, you should be fine during training, but just keep the line of communication with your trainer wide open! Welcome to the club!
