congrats on the new job!! i started last week :) my manager asked me to come in for onboarding, and then asked if i could stay for an 8 hour shift so i could start my training! the first day i did mainly online training with a bit of floor time (making whips, refilling syrups, etc), and the second day i did some more online training as well as practicing at drive thru. my third day i worked mainly drive thru. after the first 3 days i started being scheduled without my trainer, and i have mainly been doing ovens, front register, and a bit of dishes! it can be a lot at first, but don’t be afraid to ask questions!! i’m sure you’ll do amazing :)

Hi hi !! I'm also pretty super new (like 2 weeks since I first started) and I just finished training and stuff. I recommend taking it slow on bar!! You aren't gunna be able to go fast and remember everything at the same time as first. Also study the recipes for hot bar lol. ALSO MAKE SURE THE WHITE RING IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP ON THE WHIP WHEN YOU MAKE WHIP!!! IT WILL EXPLODE ALLL OVER U IF ITS NOT.
anyway goodluck and congrats !!!!!!

Be patient, you’re not going to master everything right away. Whenever anyone is rude just think “water off a duck’s back” and ignore them. That’s become my mantra and it helps. It usually takes about six months to get everything down so don’t be discouraged if you aren’t succeeding right away. Some of the best baristas even forget stuff from time to time especially when Starbucks randomly changes recipes. (Looking at you chai lattes)

Tell customers you're new if you struggle when taking orders/finding the buttons!
Don't be scared to ask for help, drinks can be complicated sometimes, remember that's it's just coffee!

I just started about a month ago! Bar is difficult, but don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions. Also, drink lots of water on your shifts and try to have fun!
