Can you make it a combo with a cherry on top?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Positivepatty60
So the other day I had a car come through and order a vanilla bean Frappuccino with no cherry on top (ma’am, this is not chic fil a) and a bacon Gouda and asked me what sides we had to make it a combo…again, we are not chic fil a. She then asked if she can get a Diet Coke or a sunrise lemonade and argued with me as I asked if it was a secret menu item and how to make it, she told me it’s on the menu and I should know how to make it instead of asking customers for the recipe. I get that not everyone is a Starbucks regular, but you don’t see me pulling up to chic fil a insisting on an iced shaken espresso..

thats when u say “ma’am this is a starbucks”
oftbkk93 points1y ago

Kaori1582 points1y ago
We have a place that sells ribs right next door and someone pulled up to the speaker and asked for a rack of ribs. I was like “ma’am this is Starbucks we’re a coffee shop🧍🏾♀️” and she said “so y’all don’t have ribs?”

We once had someone pull up to the box and order a burger and a coke. The lady thought we were the Wendy’s that’s two streets down lmao
Bieb79 points1y ago
How do people do this? Like is it not obvious by the menu? And the big Starbucks logo? Lol I swear these people must be high when they roll through.
SnuglyS50 points1y ago
She was super old. I’m guessing she had a bit of dementia. Claimed she had lived there 30 years and the Wendy’s was there the whole time.
Bieb41 points1y ago
Oh damn now that makes me sad
BatWeary19 points1y ago
not to mention starbucks is green??? wendy’s is red????
buubuubitch32 points1y ago
Makes me concerned that these people are driving in the first place
bryceofswadia5 points1y ago
We have a Cafe Rio next door and people always come through our drive thru thinking it’s Cafe Rio (they don’t have a drive through).
We’ve even had people hear our whole intro and still keep ordering as if they were at Cafe Rio.

You would be surprised the things people ask me for at Chick-fil-A as well lol. I feel your pain. Just to name a few: Frappuccino’s, hamburgers, and my personal favorite, a chicken fajita pita
camspen2018 points1y ago
i used to work at cfa before working at starbucks, and we had a popeyes next door. we'd have customers like twice a month come in and ask for the popeyes chicken sandwich. someone once asked for a refill on a drink but it was literally a popeyes cup. i cant with people 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
whatscookincal9 points1y ago
NOT THE REFILL WITH THE POPEYES CUP 😭😭

My previous store actually WAS next to a Chic-fil-a, but we didn't share a parking lot or anything.
One morning, a woman came in the DT asking for "the free breakfast sandwich". None of us heard of a promo for free sandwiches, so we asked if she had an email offer for it. She said no, it was something we always offer. We were all very confused and said that we have never had a promo for a free breakfast sandwich.
After about a minute that felt like forever of us going back and forth with her, she said "the one you have on your sign!" It finally clicked and we said "Ma'am are you trying to order from Chic-fil-a?" She said "YES! Now can I get my free breakfast sandwich?!" To which we informed her "Ma'am, you're at Starbucks. Chic-fil-a is a different building." She was then extremely embarrassed, especially since she was stuck in the DT with no way to get out besides driving past us and sheepishly waving on her way out.
The highlight of this story though, was the woman who was in the car behind her, who pulled up laughing **hysterically**, and said "Am I at Chic-fil-a??"

Oh lord, reminds me of when Panera opened just up the street from us. I had a lady call us first thing in the morning right at open and was complaining why our drive-thru wasn’t open or why no one was in the store. My team and I were confused as hell on the phone because we didn’t see her or any living soul in our DT. After trying to figure out what was going on we realized she was in Panera’s drive thru calling us and asking why the Panera drive-thru wasn’t open. SMH 🤦♀️

Someone asked me if we serve Coke or Pepsi products in drive thru 😭
boxinghamster1610 points1y ago
Someone asked me that and I just said "Neither??"
Accj-2018-1 points1y ago
Starbucks did used to have some random soda though lol...
Ashamed_Equal2 points1y ago
That was over 6 years ago… I think once it passes half a decade, they shouldn’t use that excuse
sadnugly25 points1y ago
once had someone pull up to the box and ask if we were doing drive thru haircuts.. there’s a Supercuts next door.
Positivepatty60 [OP]17 points1y ago
“I’ll take a caramel Frappuccino and a buzz cut please”
unsettledsummer24 points1y ago
Once had a person come right up to me while I was standing behind the espresso bar and said he had a pick up order. Asked what it was since I had no mobile order stickers and he said “large pepperoni pizza” I just pointed to my apron and he walked out 😂
silversungoddess3 points1y ago
Omg this happened so much when I worked in a sbux next door to a Pizza Hut. Like did you smell pizza when you walked in? Does this look like a Pizza Hut???
scarlettmuffin711 points1y ago
My store is next to a panera (which doesnt have a DT) and we have at least one person a day come through and try to order a you pick two 🙄 outside of the fact that everything is labled Starbucks and we answer the DT with "Welcome to starbucks!" They still try to order. I dont get people
anitasdoodles7 points1y ago
A sunrise is a sonic drink 😂 she asked for something from THREE different companies
emmaniamh7 points1y ago
I've had people ask for soup, coke and fries before.

True story… right after open I had a guy come thru the dt and started ordering for Steak ‘n Shake… chili Mac ect… I laughed and said that’s funny what can I get you… he repeated him self…. I was like dude this is Starbucks …. He didn’t believe me he told me he was looking right at it …. There was a steak n Shake across the street ( pretty sure he was drunk)….
SavLikesDoritos6 points1y ago

At my old store, we shared a building w Panda Express and Wing Stop and the number of times people went through the drive thru asking for orange chicken or boneless wings was insane
Khmera5 points1y ago
What happens when you just laugh at ridiculous requests? And then, you pass the request to someone else who continues laughing…can your management just get on board so the whole team can start having fun with the ridiculousness of all the different requests? I sincerely think Starbucks would do well to return to a simpler life/menu. Or maybe little packets for customers to add their extras themselves so you can throw that shit in a bag and let them stir their own drinks. Make more money, less barista errors, and maybe everyone slightly more agreeable. Maybe. Just brainstorming here.
goldqueen2872 points1y ago
When I tell you people get pissed when their extra shit is on the side. A guy ordered 20 stevia with his pike and fully expected me to do it for him in the middle of a rush
LZARDKING4 points1y ago
I remember the first few times I had idiots asking for hamburgers and I laughed because I thought they were joking. This one takes the cake though I had one woman walk in and start rattling off an order of things I’ve never heard of and then go “wait, where am I?” And then walked out lmao.
cherrythot3 points1y ago
We’re getting a cfa right next to us soon. Oh boy.
Extreme_Musician_7413 points1y ago
We are next to a MOD pizza, and a Panarea bread, enough said .
No_Yogurt_46023 points1y ago
wow she genuinely deadass thought it was a chick-fil-a
diotheleo3 points1y ago
there's a wendys on the other side of a business building next to my store and despite there being a literal building between sbux and wendys, we get people aaking for burgers a lot. one time we had someone come through asking if we had ketchup because wendys was out and proceeded to get mad we didnt.
pixieuppercut3 points1y ago
I had both a Subway and a Burger King in the parking lot of my first store and people thought we were one of the two a few times.
We also had a cell phone store by us. One day I get a call from an old gentleman saying his wife would be coming down and that he gives her permission for his account. I’m confused and it takes me some questions to realize he meant to call them and not Starbucks. So I inform him of that and he asks “so you can’t help me with my cellphone?” … sir I make coffee.

Sunrise lemonade is half-tea, half-lemonade, basically an Arnold palmer that they decided to brand.
Ashamed_Equal2 points1y ago
I would have guessed it was the strawberry refresher and lemonade with the sar on top
Sarahthelizard1 points1y ago
That’s a good name for it actually lol.
But the sunrise is Chick-fil-A’s way of trademarking something that already existed.
