Don't you just love it when these customers get on the phone while ordering and completely ignores you when you're talking to them trying to take their order?

It’s so disrespectful. I’m trying to ask them questions like “would you like a receipt?” “you had the iced white mocha with-“ etc and it makes everything so chaotic

My fave is when they ignore your questions and don’t listen and then “um I wanted that iced not hot” 😶

I walk away. They can get mad at me all they want, but I’m not gonna try and get your order wrong because obviously the phone call is more important. I’ll take your order when you’re done.

That’s what I did today. I said how can I help you, she whipped out her phone and started to have a conversation so I walked away. She eventually stepped to the side when I didn’t come back

i had someone in the window yesterday who was on the phone and instead of just speaking to me, she tried mouthing what she needed. first i thought it was a sleeve, then a straw, and then finally landed on a stopper.

When they’re on the phone I interact with them like I normally would, and ignore the fact they’re on the phone.

I think it works to save the order they’ve started so we can take the order of the customer inevitably standing right behind them in the cafe

Only problem is that saving an order will usually send stickers to the printers.

I’ve done it in the cafe when a customer’s app was updating and she couldn’t pay so she was going to go get a credit card. I guess I should put in an ask me saying “DONT MAKE” and take it off when she comes back. I can’t make all the folks behind her wait

I hate when they walk up to the till order their drink and then make me wait while they make sure no one else in the office want something from Sbux. We only have one till. Don't approach it until you are ready!

This is my biggest fear when I’m a customer. I’m always worried I’m going to get an important call while in line and have to pick it and can’t get out of line.

Honestly I think the best solution would be to let them know where you are and that you'd need a second to order. The faster you tell us your order the faster you can get back to being on the phone.

If that's not appropriate and you need to take the call, leave the line or let the person behind you in front it it's a quick call.
