I love no ice people thinking they beat the system. No honey, your drink just looks and tastes weird. Good job
LegendaryKegendary82 points1y ago
lmao i had the same thing happen the other day and when they came in i asked them about it and the lady just turns to her son and is just like "do you not want a frapuccino" and her son was like "no, i do" and she responds "well you need ice in a frapuccino" and the kid just goes "ohhhhhh"
corncob9993 points1y ago
this made me laugh 😭
AAA_Morningstar30 points1y ago
What I really want to know is what was her reaction when she saw that?
Possible_Nothing_787 [OP]94 points1y ago
thts where it gets better 😭 her boyfriend picked the order up and i was like do you want to call her and make sure this is what she wanted and his response was “i dont want to bother her, um hopefully its right and she doesnt get mad” 😭 so i jus made him a regular grande carmel frap jus incase
AAA_Morningstar75 points1y ago
Now I even feel bad for the boyfriend. I feel like he needs a hug because he’s probably dealing with a lot right now. She seems like a handful and a half 😬
AAA_Morningstar25 points1y ago
Wtf Veronica 🤦🏻♀️ I seriously have no words LOL
ObnoxiousR24 points1y ago
Ive been asked for a hot frapp before and I was thinking in my head: do they want me to throw steamed milk and cheese in a blender or what?
abradds19 points1y ago
cheese…?
darling215 points1y ago
cheese…?
interyx9 points1y ago
I just interpret that as they're asking for a hot latte of whatever the frappuccino flavor is. When people ask me for a hot CRCF I just ring in a dark caramel latte with whip, drizzle and crunch pieces. Obviously the whipped cream at the bottom doesn't work hot so I just leave it off.
Now if that's not what they want then we need to have a long conversation about what they're doing with their lives and where they think this order is going.
Webshooter382 points1y ago
People ask me for hot frappacinos all the time. Like... why don't you just order a latte?
thefemalepenis1 points1y ago
cheese...?
bigghostb00ty20 points1y ago
I hate how cheap people are, literally saw a woman comment on an Instagram post that she asks for no ice so she gets the most “juice” and it makes me sad that this is what we have become.
_abbycadabby_28 points1y ago
My trainer taught me to make "light ice" drinks using the proportions for the next size up on the shaker cup, but people are getting so ridiculous with light and no ice that I'm getting mad and just making the drink with the proportions they paid for. Yes, all that space at the top is correct. You want more juice you buy the bigger size.
The other day a lady got a trenta passion tea no ice no water. Just fucking 30 ounces of concentrated tea. No worries, ma'am, it's not like I could have made 6 regular drinks with that ingredient.
TheWhiteTigerKing19 points1y ago
Used to get regulars that would order 2 Trenta Verry Berry no water no ice then ask for 3-4 cups of ice on the side. They were very nice atleast
Jralloms17 points1y ago
i had a regular that would do this and she was NOT nice. she was pushy and entitled and she was openly smug about “scamming” us out of extra product it made my blood boil. i always wanted to dunk my fingers in her trenta juices
muhkiim14 points1y ago
Something is seriously wrong with me. When I read, "i always wanted to dunk my fingers in her trenta juices," all I could think was how inappropriate that sounded lmao
rlogranite15 points1y ago
According to the beverage guide no ice and light ice means more water.
lexoepain9 points1y ago
It’s Starbucks who is “cheap” for what they pay us. I applaud ppl who say fxck you and get more product for the same price. Either way it isn’t our money and we won’t get a raise for saving the buck any money.
Competitive-Coat-6757 points1y ago
While this is true, the amount of product we waste vs how much sales we make does matter. Most starbucks operate on a budget that what they sell is what they can order into the store, schedule staff hours, etc. So in the end it’s the baristas who suffer again, because we are short staffed and out of product lol
andrewdee013 points1y ago
u forgot da caramel drizzle

hidethenight1710 points1y ago
We had a lady come through and order this basically and was mad it wasn’t a frap. Like?? What do you think the ice does?
Broccoli_In_The_Butt3 points1y ago
I get it like that sometimes but it’s because I blend it at home for my boyfriend🥲 once had someone blend it without ice and fill it to the top????
RinnTheOtter3 points1y ago
Eww
WillaFox2 points1y ago

Vegetable_Loan21562 points1y ago

We have a lady who once a week comes through to check if we can make a hot caramel ribbon crunch.
ZacW941 points1y ago
How do you have a frapp without ice? Isn't that what makes it a frapp?
WillaFox1 points1y ago
At my old DT store they have a lady who gets a trenta black tea no water very light ice and it must be shaken..... Also a second of the same thing at the refill price 😑. She would legit give it back if it wasn't shaken.
lcchill1 points1y ago
How does one order this😭😭😭
ObnoxiousR1 points1y ago
Replace ice with cheese. Idk i dont make the rules.
JeromeBaritone0 points1y ago
I usually just fill the cup with whole milk and do extra pumps of caramel syrup to make up for the loss of frap base and … yeah it ends up looking like a no ice iced latte. But filling the cup is fine, since the labor of blending is what makes the drink expensive anyway…
HengroenAndLlamrei-21 points1y ago
I got tired of judgy coffee baristas who are too emotionally invested in product that isn’t theirs and defy corporate guidelines about filling the cup out of some petty need to spite the customer by engaging in malicious compliance tactics, so I started making dupes at home. It’s cheaper, healthier, tastes the same, I don’t have to deal with people, and I don’t add any ice.
bioticbootylover10 points1y ago
I'm curious -- how do you make a frap without ice at home?
Broccoli_In_The_Butt7 points1y ago
Same way you make a hot frap
sidneyistrash4 points1y ago
how are you supposed to fill up a Venti cup with a no ice frap
4filth2 points1y ago
sounds like a victory to me!
Flickolas_Cage1 points1y ago
How awesome for you.
HengroenAndLlamrei1 points1y ago
It actually really is. Though I suspect you’re being facetious, and that’s ok.
But for anyone interested in the fasted way to make the best tasting dupe: just add Trader Joe’s instant cold brew powder to your milk base (for me it’s oat and almond milk); no brewing time or special machine needed and ready in seconds.
Also for people trying to dupe the brown sugar syrup, the secret is to make a brown sugar simple syrup but ALSO stir in an extra spoonful of pure molasses to your drink of choice. It’s the extra molasses taste that the Starbucks syrup has that’s missing from regular homemade brown sugar syrup.
