Question about free partner beverages! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Stellaexo
So I’m a little confused about the free drink perk for baristas. I know you can get free drinks during your shift or 30 minutes before or after but if I already worked a shift today and I’m planning to go out with my friends later today and we’re going to Starbucks would I be able to get a free drink then?

I don't believe so. I believe the drink "after" your shift is directly after, like before you've left the building.

You can get a drink at another store as long as it's still within 30 minutes after you clocked out.

oh i never understood the policy. i just took any drinks i wanted in a shift and everyone did the same and it was cool 😎

If you work that day, your daily mark outs are the ones that you receive on shift. You do not get any additional. Your off days you get one food and drink total.

If you haven’t been fired yet you’re probably good, but I would stop getting both mark outs immediately lol

Depends on if your coworkers like you, in my experience.

Off time you get 1 markout per day and this doesn't stop till September.

Why is it stopping in September? (Sorry, I'm new)
kqs13 6 points 1y ago
It was a perk they put in place because of covid, and it is going away and will be back to "normal" after September. Which just means free drinks during your shift and 30 min before and after, and on your days off, you can use your discount!

Idk, I don't think people or economy are stable yet. It was free markout to provide partners having trouble make end meet to provide themselves with foods
vietlazed 3 points 1y ago
Last time I read the weekly update they said extended to September

One free drink 30 mins or less before your shift
One free drink on your 10 min break
One free drink during your lunch
One free drink on a second 10 min break
One drink once you click out up to 30 mins after toy clock out
One free food item per shift (includes yogurt, pastry, breakfast, lunch, chips, peanut butter bars etc)
When you’re not working it’s one free drink per day and one free food item. You can’t get 2 free foods in one day unless you work 2 separate shifts. EX. You work a 7am-1pm shift and picked up someone else’s shift that day from 2:30-6:30 . I hope this helps

You get one free drink and food when you're off the lock. (Unless they changed it back???) If you're working you get your free drink but that also counts toward the before mentioned one free drink when you're off the clock rule. Even if you get one 30 minutes before you start working then again later in the shift the one you get later in the shift is just because you're working.

Tldr, no. You can't. But you can still use your discount.

I believe the written information says “regardless of if you have worked or not” or something along those lines.
I’ve had partners at other stores ask me if I worked that day. I don’t go get a drink if I have already worked because I would never sleep at night because of all the caffeine.

I asked my Assistant SM this question once and got a confusing response so I assumed that meant no but I'm curious too.
