I've only been here a month and have already been offered a raise and promotion, and I'm constantly told that I'm doing great work. I don't like my boss, but I do feel appreciated and respected unlike the bux. I was with the Siren 1½ years and even after being told I'd be considered first for promotions I kept getting passed up.

My ex coworker is now a Nordstrom barista. He likes it a lot better than being overworked at Starbucks

While working at a different cafe I felt like they *actually* valued me as an employee. I like Sbux for the benefits, but being a barista at a more laid back cafe is MUCH more enjoyable imo.

i left starbucks to work at a local coffee shop but am back at starbucks. it was fun, people are a lot nicer and the machines are cooler. but starbucks benefits really make the job worth it to me

Really cool! Keyed in on the local Barista community and know a lot of people, and a lot of coffee stuff. Learned how to make latte art, and how to dial in coffee for every method. Plus I get $7-8 in tips.
