Screw this, I'm out. (self.starbucksbaristas)

299 partner here.. I'm at my wit's end.

I'm ADHD and have some pretty severe sensory processing issues, and I have panic disorder, so I end up having to call out often so I'm able to at least somewhat function. I told my manager about this when I was hired, and she told me she would put in my accomodations. I wrote down my accomodations and sent them to her and didn't hear about it until months later, when she told me I had to do it myself. I went ahead and started the process, but honestly? I'm not sure it's worth it.

Not to mention, I'm getting real sick of the store experience. The company isn't communicating properly, the customers are utterly dreadful, and the delta variant is taking off. My physical and mental health is worth way more than $10/hour.

I'm not sure I can make it 2 weeks.. should I just no call/no show or call and quit? 😩

Call and quit, and effective immediately if you can’t do two weeks.

No call no show will just mean they’ll be calling you/trying to figure out where you are. It’ll save you some hassle to let them know first.

What are some of these literally ableist comments... I've worked with many partners with ADHD, heck my SM is diagnosed, autism, and panic disorders. I myself have some things that make me prone to having panic attacks and I am usual greatly overstimulated (& dissociating) at work, typically with 0 accommodations, except maybe going home or having a breather after an attack. Not everyone has to deal with their mental health literally being destroyed like a frenzied dog's chew toy and OP did their part by telling their manager, who gave less than a damn. If OP had to do whatever themselves that should've been stated months earlier when it was mentioned. Accommodations are nothing to sneeze about and looking at it from a "company standpoint", it greatly affects whether or not we can even properly function at work and whether or not we get burnt out and quit, which is what happened... OP's needs were disregarded so I don't see why they owe it to Starbucks Corporation or their manager to show up. I agree with dazedandconfused that at least letting them know you won't be coming in again will save some trouble though.

Word! How do I get access to my stocks?
nothaley99 6 points 1y ago
U don’t get stock unless you’re with the company for a year, and I don’t think you can touch them for another year after that (don’t quote me on that, but for sure on being granted any stock)
amalia13lightning 4 points 1y ago
that's right. the stocks will vest in parts, meaning one year after they're given to you (always around october/november), HALF of the stocks will be available to you. the other half will take another year to vest.

I feel that. And it doesnt seem like you were a good fit for your store, just the way you described it. Im 28 years old, im a 173xxxx. I’m telling you right now, fuck starbucks. But it is not for everyone. I hate the company as a whole, but i like my store and thats why i stay. However any and EVERY company will deem you replaceable if you impede on their ability to make money. So calling someone an ignorant, company panderer claiming that im judging someone’s ability to work at starbucks is a shit response because we’re all “human” Sounds so controversial and ridiculous. I dont know your work ethic, and i dont knoe the OP’s work ethic. But you said you had seen and experienced some things that ruined sbux for you. Cool, sucks that you got canned, but maybe for the best? Same with OP, would have been miserable working there any longer, and frankly i blame that on their SM. Not once am i calling out OP for ANYTHING other than no calling no showing (cause thats bs). Im against starbucks 100%, but I’m convinced most of this sub is so sensitive to bad experiences that they paint Starbucks as this evil company and all employees as little angels. Thats just not true. There’s always two sides to a story and frankly YOU’RE ignorant if you only choose to see one.
