1. New manager sucks dirty man balls. Super nice to your face, but will turn on you in an instant. Really really strict with everything. Poured out a drink I made because I put just a little bit too much sweet cream in it.

2. Only have been working here a year, and I can tell the fast food vibes are hot and heavy. What the fuck happened to it being a cafe? Everyone has to wear a headset, besides drive thru window and cafe bar. Yes, front register and CS has to wear one.

3. There are fucking bugs everywhere. Alive and dead. We have an issue with ants, and it is so embarrassing having customers point them out. And, dead flies. One day I went in for an opening shift, the entire back floor was covered in dead flies.

Maybe once I quit, I can use my ✨shitty pay ✨ on my last cheque to go get my nails done to take the attention away from all my burn scars

Facts I no longer order refreshers w/ berries or anything kept near them (matcha, frap chips, etc.) due to gnats. My store didn't have this issue until cleaning started going sharply downhill due to lack of baristas working and focus on drive times. I think one of my breaking points was feeling BAD for taking time to clean my hot bar, or the fact that CS's main duty was cleaning up after Drive Bar during peak. I can't work in a messy environment and got close to a breakdown multiple times, especially on days that we had a bad CS. I work in a retail job now where it's WAY easier to keep stuff clean and I love having the slow moments to spray down the counters with sanitizer, organize merch, and make perfectly-folded t-shirt racks. It's so, so satisfying.

I simply bitched (past tense since I left a month ago) until either 1) a (competent) CS is assigned or 2) someone took on CS duties in their free time (usually me). I will 100% brutally murder drive times by walking away to go clean something if it was getting to a disastrous point (sani water as opaque as milk, trash cans overflowing, completely out of milk & inclusions, etc.). As someone who genuinely does like Starbucks drinks and took full advantage of the daily markouts, I refused to let standards be lower than what I'd expect to find going there on my days off/now that I've quit.
