i’ve only been working for the siren for a few weeks, i got hired in July. while i don’t hate the job by any means i can easily see myself becoming burnt out. i saw a few job posting for jobs related to my undergrad degree that i’ve been thinking of applying to. however, i don’t want to be “that person” who leaves after only a few weeks if i were to get the job especially since i know my store is short staffed

if these other jobs relate to ur interests go for it and don’t j stick w sbux bc u feel bad- that is corporates thing to be worrying abt staffing shortages not yours!

You have to do what’s best for you and put yourself first. Trust me, Starbucks will replace you quicker than you think. What matters is your future

f*ck company loyalty you owe them nothing go get that bag

I like my job, so this isn’t a dig at SB but under no circumstances should you let some weird sense or loyalty prevent you from doing what’s right for you. It’s a job. You owe them nothing, they could fire you tomorrow just because they feel like it.
If you want a job in your field you should absolutely go for it.

Yeah I mean it’s kinda a dick move to apply to a job thinking you’re gonna quit right after you get it but this isn’t that. This is just life. You can’t hold yourself back for a Starbucks store.

nah who cares it’s a multi billionaire company that’s gonna do fine without you who hasn’t even had enough experience to be a valuable partner. you’re gonna do great doing what you wanna do.

Just do it you are number 1 in your life and sbux will always be short staffed and you will get burnt out
kopilosips3 points1y ago
Don't feel bad for them, just leave for the job that you want. They can always find a replacement, so short- staffed issue is their problem not yours.

Most definitely take it cause if its part of your undergrad its better to get exp for when you graduate that way you can be a few steps ahead of others

If the job pays more, go for it. I am burned out too

Seriously, don't worry about leaving. I I've had coworkers who have done the same, and while its dissappointing to see them go, it made total sense for them to be persuing their career goals. I think as long as you put in your two weeks, everything should be cool.

Get out now before you feel even more pressure not to leave. Run. Run far away from the siren she will drag you down into the depths of her corporate death sea
