So I just recently got hired, like still training new. But I just last minute found out that I have to move for uni next friday (the 13th). When I sent in my application and everything it was under the impression I wasn't going to have to move. This might be more of my own fault for not waiting, but I was getting tired of my uni not sending out any type of notices and didn't want to waste the rest of my summer doing nothing. How am I supposed to tell this to my manager? I was really looking forward to working at/with starbucks and I dont want this to ruin anything 😭.

Is there a Starbucks near the uni that you can transfer to? Either way, I would be honest with your SM and let them know the situation. Things and life are weird when we aren't in the middle of a pandemic and I'm sure, if they are a good SM, they will understand. It's all about communication.

Yeah, there's a starbucks right across from the uni! When I went to my interview I did mention not knowing if I was going to have to move or not, so hopefully the manager already kinda knew that there was a possibility that I would, she's also the one who mentioned the location across from the uni. She's super nice and i've gotten to know her for the past few months since i'm a regular at my starbucks lol. I guess i'm just kind of nervous to talk about it with her since its so last minute, but hopefully it'll all go well!

Yeah, just talk to her and see if it's possible to do a transfer. If not for whatever reason (the big thing that might be in the way is how new you are), ask and see how you should go about applying for that store if you want to stay with the company. My SM is very good about communicating things and is very understanding as long as you talk to him, so hopefully yours will be the same.
