They wanted a wet almond milk cappuccino with 1 stevia??
valumptuoushippo 5 points 1y ago
with no foam..
Meggilli91 25 points 1y ago
Cup marking should still be taught. What happens when the sticker machine breaks? Back in 2012 all we did was mark cups by hand. 1/2 decaf, 1 stevia, almond milk, cappuccino

I think they’re pointing out it’s a no foam “cappuccino.”

“Foam” is crossed out which to me *probably* means they meant no foam, whether or not its written correctly.
jcj44 3 points 1y ago
how do you symbolize “no” then?
Meggilli91 9 points 1y ago
Actually ya you’re correct. Had to dig out my barista basics cup markings to confirm haha. A capital F with a line through it is “no foam”. The fact that its a no foam cappuccino is what’s confusing everyone lol
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 1y ago
My store still only does cup markings. No foam = NF
impasse602 23 points 1y ago
Confused. Its a 1/2 decaf almond milk cappuccino with vsc foam or with no foam?
Meggilli91 26 points 1y ago
You can’t make a cappuccino without foam…they must have changed their order or the person writing got confused

Trust me, the amount of times I’ve had to argue this with a customer is exhausting. They think a cappuccino and a latte are COMPLETELY different beverages and they ignore the fact that the only difference is the amount of foam. I will literally stand there and list out the ingredients/drinks build for them SLOWLY and they still will yell and demand a no foam cappuccino instead of a no foam latte. Like MA’AM IM JUST TRYING TO MAKE YOU NOT LOOK LIKE A DUMBASS PLEASE JUST LISTEN TO ME😭

So I’m totally thinking that this is the situation that happened. Some dumbass bitchy customer can’t comprehend the difference between the two drinks and demanded a no foam cappuccino.

I once called someone out for this and they never ordered it again 😂😂😂 It's like they think they can't have a latte with chocolate sprinkles instead. Just order a fkin latte with sprinkles and I'll do it rather than you looking like a complete ass. My next favourite is a venti latte with half a shot???!!!!!! So you want milk? 🙃 You want to pay £5 for a 20oz cup of hot milk?????? K den
impasse602 6 points 1y ago
Yeah i know thats what im confused about
the_coffeegirl 4 points 1y ago
Also, the foam is the best part although I don't really know how to make almond milk foam.
impasse602 5 points 1y ago
It doesnt foam very well imo

I had a customer like this a few days ago. She wanted a no foam cappuccino and my manager tried explaining that it wouldn’t be a cappuccino anymore, but the customer insisted on calling it a cappuccino. The customer’s aLwAyS rIgHt though

i used to be a DT employee and didn’t know the code and when i got to a target starbucks they didn’t have that and i was so shocked
DeadstockEvocative 1 points 1y ago
jokes on them. almond milk doesn’t even foam up 😎
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 1y ago
It's not even worth the discussion, especially with a bitchy customer. You know what they want.
obviousthrowaway_512 1 points 1y ago
i know cup marking is a lost art, but i’m not sure why you’re confused (besides the fact they marked no foam twice.)
asdfjklyss 41 points 1y ago
I think it’s because it’s a cappuccino with no foam... which is no longer a cappuccino.
obviousthrowaway_512 2 points 1y ago
what a silly thing for me to comment… whoops 🥳
alyinthehouse 0 points 1y ago
Why not just get a new cup and do it over? This is so confusing
yoonade21 -3 points 1y ago
Clearly the customer wanted a drink with no foam after the barista marked it. Then they wanted a cappuccino but the barista had to explain why it had foam so then the customer might’ve agreed at that point to just keep the foam. It makes sense still and by crossing out the “nf” and “foam” they are basically just invalid and is a mistake. I don’t understand why y’all have to debate so much about a cup lol
yuribuny 24 points 1y ago
asked the man to his face what he wanted and he told me a no foam non fat cappuccino i had to explain that is not a drink
