Has anyone else in covid hotspot areas had an uptick of customers ordering the medicine ball lately?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sofso
Like, a suspicious amount, frankly.
1300727373 points1y ago
No, but I’ve had a lot ask for remakes because they say it taste bland…..
sofso [OP]272 points1y ago
Submission for one sentence horror story right here.
GarbageValuable188844 points1y ago
Was explaining to someone what it tasted like, this lady right behind her said “oh I love it, i had it everyday when I had covid back in February” - and yes, she came into the store with covid to get it.
Virth11 points1y ago
I hate it here.
girl_in_blue180119 points1y ago
Reminds me of when Yankee Candle started getting bad online reviews because customers lost their sense of smell due to COVID-19 smh
Stay safe out there everyone
Edit: wait, what's the "medicine ball"?

Honey Citrus Mint Tea
emmaniamh-8 points1y ago
A mint majesty tea bag, a peach tranquility tea bag, honey and steamed lemonade
ourgodwhofucks94 points1y ago
i thought it was jade citrus mint & peach tranquility?
kqs1344 points1y ago
It is jade citrus mint
emmaniamh9 points1y ago
I could be wrong I haven't worked in a year
OneRoseDark20 points1y ago
it's now technically "honey blend syrup" which is 1) bad, and 2) does not have the health benefits of honey. fortunately, we're out of that so now it's made with honey again.
Improvmomolyfe18 points1y ago
If only we had it. It’s been god knows how long since the store has had it. But not to worry. We have agave. It is supposed to go with the blueberry oatmeal.but not to worry, cuz we can’t serve oatmeal cuz we don’t have the cups to put it in. Don’t you love being a partner in COVID age
fortytwounder_8 points1y ago
Except the amount of sugar in the lemonade definitely negates any “health benefits” from the honey anyways.
jams101517 points1y ago
It's a jade citrus mint, not a mint majesty.
girl_in_blue1806 points1y ago
Oh that actually sounds decent
AndrewSaidThis8 points1y ago
Even if you’re not sick and want something relaxing, it’s good.
kitsustar1735 points1y ago
Had someone awhile ago get 20 pumps of classic in their black tea and complained it didn’t taste sweet. Got a new mask and hand wash after that lady.
calebaretta8 points1y ago
Good God this reminds me of a partner from a different store who would always come to our store and order a trenta black tea with 30 pumps LCS
sadilg7 points1y ago
Oh god
PhilosophyWizard159 points1y ago
I told a customer that a medicine ball won’t protect you from covid-19 and I got written up for it
misscerh61 points1y ago
But where is the lie?
PhilosophyWizard12 points1y ago
For real and dm had to have a coffee talk with me about it
misscerh11 points1y ago
Now what on God's green earth is a "coffee talk"?
PhilosophyWizard15 points1y ago
A coffee talk it’s just a paid 1 and 1 with sm/dm/shfit to talk over things. So we talk about how I can’t tell people it doesn’t cure covid 19.
Silly_Goose214 points1y ago
Uh Health Canada and the FDA take false or misleading medical claims very seriously. Doing the opposite of what you did could result in monetary penalties. What is your manager on about.

*MaKe ThE mOmEnT riGhT*
PhilosophyWizard12 points1y ago
Imma start dick slapping people who don’t wear a mask after aug 5
salemsflatline8 points1y ago
as a customer, I condone this
etbarista145 points1y ago
i refuse to call it a medicine ball for this reason!! i only say honey citrus mint tea, there is nothing medicinal about your sugary hot lemonade, go to the doctor
mayor-em48 points1y ago
‘Im sorry we don’t have medicine, just coffee and tea, but can i get you the honey citrus mint tea? I hear it’s comparable’
sofso [OP]45 points1y ago
LOL yeah the conversation always goes like; customer: "Can I get a medicine ball?" me: "Sure thing, what size did you want that honey citrus mint tea?"
givemeapples47 points1y ago
I refuse to call it a medicine ball too, and that's how my conversations go... but then they are followed by the customer saying: "a what? i want a medicine ball" me: "it's the same drink you are referring to, except we don't call it a medicine ball as it offers no medicinal properties whatsoever"
miniinovaa15 points1y ago
Reminds me when people would ask “oh what do you have thats keto?” And id say “idk maam I’m not a nutritionist nor your doctor, I’m not gunna assume anything is gunna follow your diet “ lmao
The_walking_man_12 points1y ago
Correct. I always correct them on the name, to make sure their dumb ass realizes nothing about this drink is "medicine."
pink_haired_bitch84 points1y ago
It scared me so much when we had this customer in December last year and she was like can I have this remade? This tastes like nothing. She got a venti medicine ball with 13 pumps honey blend. That lady had us all looking at each other at the exact same time. As soon as she left I wiped down that whole damn lobby and every surface and door handle. Didnt help that she was coughing and sniffling I’m like honey you need a doctor not a medicine ball omg
kqs136 points1y ago
you guys have honey blend?
general0rgana18 points1y ago
probably not; op said in december
kqs132 points1y ago
lol I missed that part!
general0rgana2 points1y ago
I can’t wait for honey blend’s return im so sick of sticky fingers from opening honey packets
Alan_Man2241 points1y ago
I had a customer a few days ago who refused to wear a mask and ordered 3 venti medicine balls 🙃
shmeep1023 points1y ago
Within the last three days, yea actually
halfaxa2322 points1y ago
yessss everytime some orders a medicine bell i yell out delta lol
blue-agate15 points1y ago
Had to remake a couple of drinks because they couldn’t taste the coffee :P as well as the medicine ball. Although our store doesn’t have any kind of honey right now
pixelatedHarmony9 points1y ago
Plenty enough that we ran out of honey 🍯
shikiP8 points1y ago
No but I swear one lady had covid. Did 8 pumps of white mocha for a venti frappucino and they still complained they couldnt taste anything.
The only people who have been ordering the HCMT were the ones who get it regularly anyway.
VenusInFirs7 points1y ago
We actually have people ordering all the time. But this is funny.
[deleted]6 points1y ago
They try to but we’ve been out of honey blend, honey packets, and jade citrus mint for weeks lol
sophrologie_3 points1y ago
unfortunately so but also we’re out of honey blend & honey packets.
EeePeeTee3 points1y ago
I don't acknowledge that we have anything by that name. Our company sells a Honey Citrus Mint Tea though. Are you talking about that?
Mayachees3 points1y ago
I get people ordering it but we don’t have any lemonade.
TylerJ7163 points1y ago
We don't have any honey LOL
darkwolf5232 points1y ago
We have the tea bags but no honey. F
[deleted]2 points1y ago

undaunted_cookie1 points1y ago
It’s called medicine ball? This whole time I’ve been calling it a medicine bowl. Lolol
notagirlnotarobot1 points1y ago
nope but that's probably because we're out of our peach tranquility, jade citrus mint, and honey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
