putting two weeks in? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by unexplainablybad
hi, i told my manager that i wanted my last day to be the 17th, which is 2 weeks from now, and she said i needed to find coverage because i’m scheduled to work until the 20th. is this fair???? can i just say no ???? lmao

If you want your last day to be the 17th, your last day is the 17th. You put your notice in writing, so if they later claim “job abandonment” in a reference or something, you can sue them. Honestly, it won’t come to any of that because no employer in the future will give a shit, it’s a Starbucks job, worse than a McJob these days.

I have worked both. Starbucks is definitely better lmao

Yep you sure can!

After the 17th it’s not really your problem. You have a copy of the letter you gave your manager right?

Manager needs to realize this isn’t a planned absence it’s someone q u i t t i n g
breakfastpurritoz 12 points 1y ago
No, that is not fair. As long as you gave it to her in writing, it is your manager’s responsibility, not yours. For the record, it’s also not your responsibility to find coverage if you’re sick. All you have to do is tell your manager that you’re sick and can’t make it in for your shift(s) and it is their responsibility to find coverage.

some stores put up schedules 3 weeks in advance- which is why she’s asking u to find coverage but tbh i wouldn’t worry abt it

Two weeks notice is already a courtesy most don't provide. You don't need to find coverage at a place you no longer work at.

I mean.. you’re quitting so you can do whatever you want lol. Also giving two weeks is just a courtesy. But if you want to stay on good terms with your manager, the store, or the company, and if it wouldn’t be too difficult to find coverage, then I’d say just do it. But don’t feel obligated to show up for those shifts if you can’t find coverage. Just tell your manager you tried but you won’t be there.

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't plan on working. What's she gonna do, fire you?
