Correct frappuccino consistency? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Giidget
Hey y’all, so I’m fairly new to being a barista (about 1 month and a half) and I pretty much know all the frappuccino recipes but my only question is what is the right consistency supposed to be like? Sometimes my fraps come out too chunky and other times they’re so runny. I never feel like I get it *just right*. I’m not sure if this is a dumb post lol but any insight is appreciated!

always try to get an even level scoop of ice. Generally frappuccinos with extra ice are thick and too little ice are runny. You want a consistency that comes out of the blender easily but not pouring out like liquid. It’s hard to explain without a visual - but a tip for any of those frappuccinos with extra frap roast or espresso, always do extra ice!

plus, some alternative milks won’t create great consistency - for example almond milk always makes terrible frappuccinos imo they come out chunkier and you end up for some reason getting less Frappuccino. Another thing is always make sure you’re doing *full pumps* of base, pressing all the way down and letting the pump come all the way back up before dispensing another. Just some tips to help you out! 🙋🏼‍♀️

The type of frap can affect the consistency too.
Like mocha/chocolate fraps can be runnier but dry ingredients like chips/cookie crumble can make them chunky.
I always try adjust my milk to allow for the difference
