I see a ton of people sharing bad experiences working at Starbucks here, so I thought I would share my own positive experience. I'm fairly new but I've been a barista at Starbucks for about a month and a half and I feel like it has been a long enough time to evaluate it. I really enjoy my job. My coworkers are all super cool and friendly people, my ssvs are super nice, organized and down to earth, and my store manager cares about us employees and runs the store really well. The work can be very busy at times but I really don't mind a lot of the tasks and do enjoy making drinks. On top of that I get amazing health insurance. On top of that, my manager schedules me for the shifts I like the most (morning shifts) Overall, I honestly enjoy going into work every day. I definitely got lucky with AMAZING coworkers and manager but it's definitely possible to enjoy working at Starbucks!

1 year & a month partner here!
I can see where you're coming from, especially because my first 3 months at Starbucks I was in love with my coworkers, regular customers, and FREE COFFEE. I would pick up literally everyone's shift and would exceed over 40 hours weekly during my green bean journey. My first quarter at sbux I was nominated POTQ and it felt amazing to be recognized and appreciated by my coworkers.
Fast forward to now, I do not pick up shifts anymore and I complain a lot here on redditt, but to me it is my only way of venting in a social platform. I guess you can say I burned out A LOT throughout my time at sbux and I'm still in the process of recovering.. sadly.
With the pandemic, insane shortages, and ridiculously modified drinks from Tiktok, makes it an absolute nightmare to even consider working here with the siren. BUT ANYWAY, my point is everyone is different and their store might not have a busy location, or they could have great/terrible management, and etc.
LASTLY, please prioritize your mental health and do NOT feel obligated to pick up shifts if you do not want to. There will be partners/managers who will try to manipulate you with guilt solely so you can say yes. However, in my case I was the type of person that has trouble saying "no" and I wanted to please everyone. I'm glad I'm not that person anymore :') Good luck on your sbux journey and I hope this was helpful.

i had the same experience as you, exactly the same, my first three months i also won POTQ, picked up so many shifts for money, bent over backwards for so many people at my location just to get burnt out and not be treated the same and now i’m just completely over it 😵💫 now i don’t pick up any shifts or go in early lol

I feel the same exact way. I’m a 178 and have always loved Starbucks as a partner.

I love my job too! I can’t wait to move up through the company. The negativity here comes with any job. Honestly I’ve worked a lot of corporate jobs and this is by far the best one so far. Can it be better at times? Definitely. There’s always room for improvement! By no means is it as bad a job as this subreddit makes it seem.

Thank you! I like my job at Starbucks too, I just don't like the people (customers and staff) sometimes. It's always nice to vent here but so many people are so negative here and at my store that it kills my morale sometimes.

Sorry but which city you work in?

I agree completely. Starbucks is the first job that I actually enjoy and I’ve been working for 5 years

Tbh, the amount of negativity on shit sub has kinda made me wanna leave it. I try to read all the posts that end up on my feed but they are all complaints and how bad management is, but honestly. I've been a partner for 3 years almost now, I've had 4 different and great managers, at least 7 asms that have been great! (One not so much but eh, what's 3 weeks with a nimrod) and honestly, my regulars are so lovely and even defend us when Karen's come that I love this job and can't wait to go from ssv to asm.

Yeah I don’t want to be negative here.. but you’re still new, and the kind of customers and little things you’ll notice after a while can get really old. I still really enjoy making coffee and everything and I enjoy working with a lot of the partners in my store but it’s sad what Starbucks has turned into and the longer I’m with the siren the more I realize that

I also really enjoy my job! I am 11 months in. I have good co workers and a good manager and customers are the most difficult part but customers are at almost any job. I enjoy working even though I am tired everyday, because it is overall enjoyable. I have been sure to set myself up for success. I am sure that I don’t come in on days off, I don’t stay unless I 100% can. When I’m at work I’ll give you my all but I also make sure to set boundaries and prioritize my time

Honestly I had to laugh when I saw you’ve only been here 3 months. That explains that
