Transferring ? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by kanyon01
I just got out a bad relationship and now I have to move to another state to go live with my family. Can anyone share their stories from transferring stores between different states? Or even just different districts. Or any transfers really. I’m having so much anxiety about leaving my home store and I think hearing other experiences would help me out a lot. Any replies are appreciated!!!

Not me, but one of my partners transferred to our store from a different district a couple years ago for the exact same reason. She missed her old store for sure, but at this point we've become what she calls her home store. She was very lucky that our store is really welcoming and all my partners get along really well, and I hope the same goes for you ❤

Hello! I also transferred after a bad relationship and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. The stores were strikingly different. At my old store I wasn’t appreciated either so when I came to my current store, I immediately got promoted and felt so much better! It will be a different experience but such a great one 💖

I transferred from a store in Nevada to LA and it was fine! People are usually really nice and understanding. I ended up staying at that store for a long time.

It’s weird at first, especially if you’ve been at your first store cuz you are in an unfamiliar place but it’ll get easier

If you have any questions or anything let me know 💕

Prep yourself. Do research of locations, get a feel for the store and if you can’t visit in person - read reviews. Also check about the rate because it varies from state - and sometimes they won’t match what you had from your former store.

Also prep your mindset. You’ll be in a different store with different people and set of rules (like how some slack off or some go by the book to a T. Basically be open minded.

I transferred stores twice. It was horrible. But basically I should have done more research lol
