It’s your shift’s responsibility to ensure all tasks are done ultimately, but whether either of you will get in trouble for it really depends on how understanding your sm is. I’ve been in this position as both a barista and shift

Right that's what I thought. I don't see how I'd get in trouble when I was specifically told to clock out before finishing things.

I always tell my barista if you missed anything please inform me so I can let the morning team know. So I can note it down in the DCR for tomorrow. And if the morning team gives the closing staff shit, I tell them well I don’t gain no one after my 2nd closer clocks in if we short staff. At least you gain people.

Oh ok well for some stuff like the fridges I was told we dont have time for that... lol. And I asked if the bathrooms were good and they said yeah but they hadnt even been mopped yet. So there wasn't anything I intentionally missed. I did the sinks and stuff but some stuff wasn't done, and I was told we were good to clock out despite us clearly both knowing not everything was done. So I'm just hoping my SM won't be upset with me because I wasn't giving the calls to not do certain things. I'm assuming I won't be written up or anything for this since if's not my fault?

If they write you up for this that’s just a toxic store. Most of the time it’s just a verbal talk. I mean in all honesty if all the major task gets done. And the Shift was the one to say clock out. Then it would fall on the shift responsibility

Yeah I mean the espresso machines were cleaned and dishes done. And im sure my shift finished counting the money. So its definitely clear we tried and didnt just walk out

They will nag at you for not finishing/ preparing stuff like mocha. Which I never do since mocha is always done during opening

Yeah and I mean cant blame them. Its just like what am I supposed to do when I'm being told to basically hurry so thats why I just wanted to ask to see if I could be in any trouble.
