Ask lots of questions!! And usually most partners are always willing to help you out because they’ve been in the same position as you. And no worries if you make a mistake! That’s what the trainers there for, they help guide you and show you the ropes

Stand up for yourself. Take ALL your breaks and ALL your mark outs. Never feel guilty or let your manager intimidate you for taking a sick day and no you do not have to find your own coverage. Report any and all management abuse to HR. Report any and all injuries no matter how small to workman’s comp with documentation. Take no crap from customers and if you ever feel unsafe walk away. The job is not worth your sanity. Don’t answer texts or calls from work on your day off—ever.
Read the employee handbook and highlight relevant parts—KNOW YOUR RIGHTS and enforce them. No one else will look out for your best interests like you can. Let it roll off your shoulders and don’t sweat anything management hounds you about (drive-through times, customer connections, etc.) You aren’t paid enough to stress. Do the job the best you can and then clock the fuck out.

Hey don’t stress yourself out too much, soon you’ll be just fine, what we get payed isn’t enough to cover emotional distress anyways. But in all seriousness it’s easy, remembering what to do and in what order etc can be a little bit hard at first. I kept a small notebook with how to make Frappuccino’s that I could pull out when I needed to during my first few weeks that was insanely helpful. Don’t be afraid to double check with any of your coworkers anything you’re unsure of, it’s just a temp job and you don’t have to be at 100% everyday

It’s definitely not as bad as it seems at first! All the memorization of drinks and whatnot can seem daunting but you’ll pick it up in no time ❤️

don’t let ppl be mean to you. if someone makes u feel bad or uncomfortable. speak up. let them know. it’s just coffee so don’t let urself get verbally abused

Just remember everyone else at the store went through exactly what you are going through, so there’s no reason to panic

I’m about a month in now. I remember how nervous I was to start, even having all the knowledge I had about coffee in general.
Try to get to know people! It helps a lot when you’re asking questions. Don’t be afraid to ask, most people tend to enjoy questions rather than you mess something up and have to backtrack later!
Memorize your hot bar stuff first, it’s the easiest in my opinion. Then memorize cold bar pumps and shots. Including unique ones like the flat white, etc. Then just memorize the general recipe for frappuccino’s. Some unique frappuccino’s can be confusing but with time and experience you’ll get it down!! Refreshers and teas are the absolute easiest! Iced coffees are always sweetened with classic unless asked for unsweetened.
Teas are always unsweetened now by default.
Working CS is a hate/love relationship, but honestly you get to memorize a lot more. You see other people, memorize stocking stuff, and memorize things a little
quicker! Hope this helps :) good luck
