look, i love bar. i’m an old partner and i do it really well. but no matter how many times i tell the shifts i can’t do it for my entire shift, i always end up back on it. what do i do? i’m about to take a leave of absence for a surgery and i’ve already briefly mentioned it to my manager. i can bar in the morning and during peak but after that i am too exhausted

You might need to be a bit more firm about it. Tell them exactly that.. you can do it through peak but then you need a break. Maybe suggest that after peak when it’s slower would be a good time to get some less experienced people some practice on bar. If they still don’t listen, take it to the SM.

Because you are always barring less experienced partners are not getting the chance to become as good as you. There’s someone else in your store always on DTR/DTO who wants a change but they’re intimidated because they haven’t had the opportunity to develop skills on bar. Talk to your SM of course but also have an open discussion with your partners about how you are feeling and allow them to be open too. If they knew how you felt they may be more vocal to management too. Leadership in your store may have become comfortable and lazy frankly because you produce the fast dt times

I feel this. I’ve done full 8 hour shifts on window, all day every day.

anticipate them doing what they *should* be doing. ask, "who's taking over for me on bar?" repeat yourself, put your foot down, do not walk over to that bar.

going to the SM can help, i have an old injury and that's what i had to do, because i kept forgetting to communicate to my new supervisors that i couldn't stay on bar. so now, they know to check in with me just in case.

This is me. I transferred to a new store a few months ago and have been on bar everyday except 5 separate times and when I was put on oven, I didn’t even know where we kept extra bags and whatnot because the entire time I’ve worked at this location, I’ve been on bar 😣. I’m getting tired of it, it’s draining, and I just wanna customer support all day
