Was it the last of the milk in the jug? Sometimes it curdles when it’s the end of the milk or when it’s close to or actually expired..

yeah it was the last of the carton. i told him i wasn’t handing it out the window but he said “it still tastes the same” and i was like…. i don’t care. that’s just bad reviews waiting to happen

that much chunky milk at the bottom certainly does not taste the same. i don’t know what your ssv is on about but i always get soy in my iced drinks and the amount of times i’ve gotten a mouthful of chunky soy proteins proves it tastes different

Hi,

I didn’t know it was non-dairy and I realize there is sediment. My theory was based on the milk at the end of the carton is because the milk is usually close to expiration and has a build of bacteria that can cause it to curdle.

The unfortunate thing is, I'm p sure the oat milk had to be expired because Oatly does a good job of keeping chunks/residue out of their milk.
What that really means is that it either sat open on the counter too long, sat in heat too long or wasn't FIFOd properly

As a business. You would want the product you are handing out to be presentable. Like let’s say you go to Chipotle and you want the queso and when they give it to you they don’t mix it so you get that thick top layer that is colder and firm (it protects the rest of the cheese from getting that way by making a layer between the hot cheese and the colder air) and you put that in someone’s burrito bowl. That is not right to the customer. Even though it is still cheese doesn’t mean that’s what they should be give. And even though that is probably just the sediment from the oat milk that is already in their drink doesn’t mean you should ever give someone the sediment because that’s not what they wanted. Starbucks’ thing is to remain consistent with the drinks and this is far from consistent. That’s gross.

If it’s an alt-dairy it’s not unsafe to drink but the presentation is obviously not up to standard.

I’d drink it because it doesn’t alter the taste and it’s safe and I’m a super nice customer, but that’s me.

That’s a health and safety violation waiting to happen! Curdled milk can make people really sick. But if it’s an alternative milk someone seriously needs to learn how to shake the cartons every time they use them

it was oatmilk. i know if i were the customer, i wouldn’t want it at all. it’s just sad to me that my ssv told me to put it out the window. as a former shift manager, i know that should not go out and i asked my coworker to remake it for me and when she saw it, she was adamant on remaking it also

Eh. You're right but I don't care anymore cause they just have you add more anyway so might as well add more in the start. If I was still at licensed I would be stingy but being at corporate ive given up on following the standards because corporate doesn't care about quality and consistency anymore so why should I. It's real hard to go from a store that valued quality to one that doesn't but that's the boat I'm in. Hopefully your store isn't the same but there are a lot of my stores out there 🙄

Even soy milk doesn’t look like this and that milk is usually the worst about looking chunky. I’ve never had oat milk look like that before. Might be expired.

Yeah nah. If I was the customer, i wouldn't drink that 🤣. I know what it is and aware that it happens but that amount just doesn't sit right with me, and the fact that the barista on bar(i assume it was the SSV) actually gave it to drive thru thinking that drink is passable is ridiculous. They shouldve remade as soon as they saw it before even giving it to DT. Not about to get yelled at AND still have to remake it.
