How long is Chai good for in the fridge?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lemonlimelite
I may have acquired a box of chai from my store that I now have at home. If I open it, I know it’s only good for 48 hours. If I keep it in the fridge, can I drink it for a little longer?

I believe it is 7 days.

To be honest, I'd doubt it'd go bad within even a month. As long as it doesn't smell bad, it should be fine

Chai is good for 24hrs unrefrigerated. And 5 days refrigerated

This is the Starbucks standard

I bet you could put half the box in a tupperware and freeze it. Starbucks standards are to have the freshest product possible, but i’m sure it wouldn’t spoil after two weeks in the fridge

Public health inspector here. Brand standards keep your shelf life short.
Realistically, your Chai should last at least 10 days in the refrigerator based on the high sugar content. I expect you would be able to keep some frozen for at least three months in the freezer.

The chai is super concentrated and has a lot sugar that'll slow bacterial growth. Probably good 2 weeks in the fridge

Keep an eye on the appearance of it as well. It will start to get cloudy when it’s bad

Maybe you could freeze some in an ice tray and use them as you go!
