Do it. Take advantage of these benefits bc it’s rough out there haha. I opted for the Kaiser group insurance and honestly it’s been such a great experience so far.

That sounds awesome! 🙂 So does sbux take out a certain amount of funds from every paycheck or how does it work?
alo-san 5 points 1y ago
Yes, they take out about $20 every month for the insurance:) it’s pretty affordable, at least for Kaiser

You deduct a certain amount from your paycheck depending on what plan you pick. Basically you're going to find the balance you want between how much coverage you want and how much you're willing to pay for it

I have a silver plan and have had a great experience for the last nine years!! My experience is with Premera BlueCross for medical, VSP for vision, and Aetna for dental. I’ll admit I haven’t used the dental much but for contacts I end up paying about $5 out of pocket for a years supply, and maybe $40 for the contact lens fitting every two years.

If you aren't covered by another person's insurance, it's a no brainer.

Bronze plans are good if you have zero health concerns. I have a gold plan because I'm chronically ill with expensive meds/tests. You'll know what your plan will cost per paycheck when you pick your plan.

Your experience is really depending on what your current providers accept for insurance. If you have current providers, you can check if they're in network for each plan. If you don't, whatever plan has tolerably costs and good enough benefits.

For vision at least, YES take advantage. They cover contacts up to $200 on the gold plan, and its very cheap per paycheck. Definitely worth it. Up to you on the medical and dental. For me, it's worth it and it covers my prescriptions, but you have to do the research on which plans will cover you and be the most affordable. The website is super helpful, you can compare plans and stuff. You only have til the 20th to sign up though!

Thank you!

I will most likely sign up :) there is just one issue.. when I go to the benefits page and try to create an account it says I don't have a valid mailing address 😐 but the thing is I don't know where to update it.
kqs13 2 points 1y ago
You can update in your partner info on partner hub! You can only do it in store though. Go to partner hub and go to 'access my partner info' and you can update it there.

PERFECT.

I was literally stressing out because I know that I only have until the 20th to enroll. 😅 Thank you so much!!

You're welcome! 😊

Yes do it. It is by far the best insurance I’ve had. Far cheaper than other companies sbux 500,000 plus employees vs other companies. Choose a gold or silver still cheaper, bronze gets you nothing. Dental gets you 2 cleanings s year plus 2000 for a crown or cavity or whatever, glasses or contacts for a very big discount. You don’t find better
. I recently switched to insurance at my other job snd boy do I regret it

Had health insurance thru Starbucks the whole time I was working there and it was fantastic. The vision especially since you said you have contacts, I know the first time I got contacts thru my Starbucks insurance they were basically free. And the vision insurance is cheap as fuck.

Are you.. asking if health insurance is a good idea? Because yes. It is. It's shitty that we have to pay employers for it, but there are cheap options and something is generally better than nothing.
Coffeeaftersex 1 points 1y ago
Are you currently enrolled or going to this year?
OneRoseDark 2 points 1y ago
Both. I have a bronze plus health plan, and bronze dental and vision. I pay $20 for the health, and another couple bucks for the other two. I think less than $30 a paycheck. In exchange I get my birth control for free, annual eye exam free, annual gyno visit free, and coverage gives me discounts on other services like dental work or chiropractics.

I’m in a similar position so I’m commenting to remember to come back if anyone shares their experience
