Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

Preferred work environment (self.starbucksbaristas)

I currently work at a store with a drive thru. This is the only Starbucks environment that I know. I’m about to move and would like to transfer to another store. There are drive thru’s as well as strictly cafe’s in the area. So, my question to the baristas that have worked in both settings, which setting do you prefer to work in and why?

Hi, I was trained in a cafe store while my actual drive through store was still being built. When I moved to my store I was so overwhelmed with how much more fast paced it is. If I ever have the opportunity to move I would 100% go back to a cafe only.

I worked at a cafe and it is completely different to a drive they store. It is much faster and prepping stuff is much more than a cafe. At a cafe it was a cool pace I could talk to people, create drinks in the free time, and it felt as if I was being paid to hangout with friends. I would definitely go back to cafe but I love my partners at the new place I’m at. The tips are much more higher compared to a cafe which is a plus.
