It might be the current market and not the store. A lot of people have been getting fed up with their jobs and leaving because of nasty customers or pay. I think a sign that it's the store would be if your manager or higher ups make you feel uncomfortable or disrespect you. Honestly, I'd take the promotion because if you enjoy it, it could end up becoming a career. The benefits are pretty good there.

As a former shift… runnn from that promotion. Shit can be awful especially when you don’t have a good manager. It’s a lot more work and responsibility for not enough pay, and you’re expected to love FOR Starbucks. It looks good on a resume but it you’re not interested, don’t do it.
As for the other stuff, that’s pretty typical rn. Some of it can be impacted by a bad SM. Mine is an absolute raging jerk, and our people are quitting left and right. It can be a really fun job, if you can stick it out it’ll get better eventually but put yourself first.

Turnover rn could be because of school. High Schoolers who are involved in activities, university students going away or cutting back
