Valid, go somewhere else and get paid better. Probably treated better too, I hope. <3

Target starbucks pays $15/hr.

You also run the store by yourself, and probably won't get enough hours for benefits... and while extra 200/mo. Is better, its not sufficient. I can't pay my rent either and have no health insurance
expresso_espresso 15 points 1y ago
Oh, and no tips

I’m sorry your store is like that :/ that sucks.
Ours is usually staffed with 1 opener, 1 mid and 2 closers, even though we’re short staffed. And each barista averages 25-35 hrs. And we can accept tips as long as we tell management.

Yeah, we only do 1 open, 1 mid, 1 close. We have 1 pet barista that gets benefits, but everyone else gets 20 hours. And I've asked over and over but they refuse to let us have tips even when the guests insist. I want to transfer to your store!

They HAVE to let you keep the tips if the customer insists. It's in the employee handbook.

This is the reality. I live by a target so I shop there every now and again and the Starbucks is often ran by one guy and the line frequently has 6+ people and he’s always making frapps

anyone else notice how whenever you mention how target sbux pays more than official locations, every superior gets insanely butthurt? "bUt soMeTimEs tHeyRe gonNa MakE u sTocK sHelvEs" yea and also they pay us more and that is probably isnt much harder than being a barista, and when that happens, i wont constantly be under the watchful and critical gaze of my superiors. Not to mention- is that actually a healthy work environment? Because two of the five shifts ive ever had will relentlessly scrutinize the baristas they dont like at every single opportunity they get. Theyre an absolute terror to work with, and more than a few people have left because of them.

I transferred because of terrible shifts. It was the worst and honestly the saddest power struggle I’ve ever been privy to.

They’re supposed to be raising the starting pay in November I’m pretty sure. 🤞🏼
