I TRIED to resign. (Repost)(self.starbucksbaristas)

I made a post recently about leaving Starbucks, and finally put it into action. On Saturday I texted my manager and told her I was resigning, when my last day would be, and that I left her an official letter on her desk. Note that this was after she texted me the same day wanting coverage, I told her I was training for my new job. I still haven’t gotten a response from her at all. I texted her AGAIN today. So I got the number of a manager from a nearby store that I know and told him. My last day is coming up and I’m worried she’s just ignoring me so I might have to call and tell the shift that I quit because my resignation has been ignored. I’m waiting to see if she continues to schedule me. Is that all I can do at this point? What do you guy think?

You didn’t try to resign, you did. Unless somehow it got misplaced and she didn’t get it, leaving a letter on her desk is more than sufficient. If she continues to schedule you, just don’t show up. At this point, it is her responsibility.

But if you made the letter on google/word/etc save a copy.
It shouldn't be an issue, unless you later decide you want to come back.
The saved copy is the best evidence you have as proof-other than your text.

Can you give written email or letter notification? Texting seems a bit informal.

I left her a letter the same day I texted her, I made sure to do both

You should really call the store, preferably on a day you know your manager will be there. Communications like resignations shouldn’t really happen via text, and it’d be good to confirm that the letter was received. My manager is big on store communications happening via the store phone and during working hours, so I think your best bet is calling the store!
