Calling in sick? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi guys, fairly new green bean here. I’ve never called out of my shift before but I came down with the common cold and don’t feel like I can make it into my early morning shift tomorrow. It’s still 12 hrs away but my question is how do I go about calling out? Do I text the group work chat looking for coverage? Do I call someone? What do? Thanks

You’re under zero obligation to find coverage if you’re sick. That’s your shift’s job.

Try to look for coverage first out of courtesy but if you can’t find it yourself, it technically isn’t your job to and is the responsibility for the shift on duty. Call the store as soon as possible

find coverage and if you can’t you have to call 2 hours before your shift or you’ll get a write up
