Most important tip I’ll offer you right now is wear shoes that have solid traction and won’t have you slipping and falling. The floors are ALWAYS wet.

Don’t allow yourself to feel as if you need to quit if things aren’t easy the first couple weeks, Starbucks is a hard job.

Your fellow partners will assist you with anything after your initial training, don’t ever hesitate to ask for help if needed.

Mistakes will happen, you will mess up orders every now and then. Don’t be too hard on yourself or take it personally if a customer is ever rude to you.

(If you’re working at a drive-thru cafe, always help out your window cashier by organizing drinks/food at the bar by order position.)

The job itself is overwhelming at times, but Starbucks as a company is a fun place to work at.

It is stressful as fuck. Not just because of customers-- it's the stimulation of the environment.

The dinging, the beeping, the steam wands, the grinders, the blenders, the ovens, the static and idling noise of cars in the drive-through, the heat, the sweat, the syrup all over your hands and arms... It's just so. fucking. much.

Try to stay calm, breathe, keep your voice lower and steady, laugh and smile whenever you can whether it's with partners or customers. Take your breaks, don't come back a single minute early. Don't drink too much caffeine. Take care of yourself. Remember that you're just fine the way you are. ❤️
