Shatterproof means it won’t shatter into sharp shards more likely to cut you. It’s used for shower glass, car windows, and such. Shatterproof glass can still break, but it will break into chunks like you see here. The chunks can still be sharp and cut, but are less dangerous than shards of glass that are more knife-like.

One of ours finally broke as well. I couldn’t stop laughing.

When they first came out, a few people in my district (from different stores) including an ASM had them randomly *shatter* in their hands. Like they were just using them like normal, and the ASM was washing it, and they randomly shattered. It was weird.

My store still uses the old metal ones. It’s not like we never got the glass ones–we did–but I guess we just prefer the metal

Question, what do the old shot glasses look like?

We once had one crash so hard on the ground that shards of glass jettisoned all the way through the cafe to the door. We were cleaning glass for the rest of the day. Thank GOD it was back in the beginning of Covid when the cafe was totally closed lol certainly NOT shatter proof

They don’t shatter!! They crumble, which is relatively safer because there’s fewer sharp shards
