You could always step down, maybe switch your schedule around, or use your vacation hours. If you want to leave of course feel free too. I wish you luck with your decision.

You can always go to them and let them know it’s burnout. I’d take care of it now if I were you. I had extreme burnout earlier this year and am just now starting to get it together. Coming back to the bucks for the sake of a routine as well but if you’re opening every day it can take a toll. You have to take care of yourself mentally emotionally and physically :)

I totally get it honey. You need a breather. And it’s okay to start reflecting now and let go of your responsibilities once you begin your vacation so that you can fully relax!!

I second this suggestion. I've been with the company for 7 years now and although have decided to remain a barista, have seen the pressures and list of expectations of supervisors. Just watching them hustle to accomplish the endless to-do list is tiring so I can only imagine actually doing it! Perhaps this would help take a major load off your shoulders and still allow you to maintain your benefits.

I'd say that if you're looking for better mental health, Starbucks isn't the job for you.

I feel this honestly. I’m only a barista but I open or do early morning shifts just about everyday and they really have become unbearable, but more because we’ve been short staffed lately plus one coworker is beyond exhausting to have to work with. I had a mental breakdown when I got home from work just now. But I feel you, you’re not alone. I just recently found I’m pregnant and I feel stuck too, because the insurance is pretty good. I wish you luck, with whatever you choose to do.

Burnouts are very common with with most jobs after a while. I haven’t felt a true burnout with starbucks just yet, but I have with my other job. I’m on the verge of quitting for so many reasons. Yet, what I do is what i’m passionate about, so it doesn’t make sense that I should be tired of it right? Well, if you do something long enough as work, it’s no longer fun and just a task that needs to be done. It helps to take a break and re-evaluate your brain and heart together. Make sure you understand what you need first, followed by what you want. Take a vacation, or try to find another job that maybe excites you… or keep this one! Better days will come. It always gets better regardless.

My whole team seems to be suffering from burnout lately. It has been an incredibly stressful year & a half. You are certainly not alone & are entirely valid in feeling it. I encourage you to take a break— give yourself some time away from the job, whether it’s vacation time, a leave of absence, switching your schedule so it’s not opening or working as often or transferring to a closer store. Something’s gotta give. Let yourself take care of yourself.

Yes, me today as well. I’m considering stepping down.
