This sounds like an abusive relationship. Get out of there. I worked at Starbucks for 6 years and now work at a different coffee shop and I’m so much happier now

The chaos is stimulating. Moving to a less stimulating environment can be very, very difficult for some people. I couldn't manage it either. Desk jobs I can get with health insurance have so little work to do. You'd think it'd be easy to just work less, but it 100% isn't for me. I felt my soul rotting when I had a desk job.

Just get an exit plan. Try to figure out what else might be a good fit. Don't get stuck here lmao.

Sometimes it's not fun, but a lot of times it's challenging, tests your problem solving skills and can be a very rewarding experience. It feels good to do difficult, challenging things and test yourself.

I made sure I wouldn't be tempted by the siren again. I quit but texting my manager and walking out in the middle of a shift. She's so desperate for people that she texted me the next day about a chance to come back and "leave professionally"...
