293**** here. I’ve been trying to get promoted for a few months now, and I keep getting promises of at least becoming a barista trainer (or up until recently, my SM said I can be promoted by holiday season). The thing is, everyone is quitting, our night crew is nonexistent, and to top it off, I was just told that if I do promote, it won’t be for my current store.
Is promoting even worth it at this point or should I just stay as a barista for the time being? I feel like I’m considered a great barista, but I don’t actually feel like they want to promote me…

Being a barista trainer isn’t a promotion. It’s just more responsibility and you’re not actively on the floor but on the floor teaching. You get a little bit of a bonus for training but not much.

Maybe your store doesn’t have a position open for a promotion? If you have enough SSVs, your manager wouldn’t hire more. Sometimes you can get hired as a SSV but could be for another store that needs the supervisor position filled
