starbucks dream ruined (tall rant) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by kysterrgreenbean
My sister has been a partner for 6 years and i’ve always loved the environment of starbucks. From what i remember, it was a chill cafe vibe. now it seems like a fast food chain, especially because i moved to a drive thru store. i am a pretty new partner and i just hate the fact that i’m basically used as a frappuccino factory. you can’t even smell coffee in my store, just caramel crunch :((

... I don't remember the last time my store smelled like coffee. It did at one point. But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm usually hit with a strong "cleaner-and-breakfast-sandwich" odor everyday. Yikes.

We are a reserve Starbucks. We literally either throw away or take as mark out all the reserve coffee , because everyone wants Frappuccino’s. They even removed the clover machine we had...

Nooooo! My old store had a clover and I LOVED it! I haven’t found a store since I moved that’s had one 😢

Starbucks is the most profitable fast food chain in the country

Not sure which country you're specifically talking about but in the US it's actually still McD's. Starbucks is most profitable in the whole world though.

Yes Starbucks changed over the years, it's now all about profits, drive thru time etc. At this moment we also got labor shortage. Honestly labor shortage can be solved pretty easily if they were to significantly raise what they pay but that is not going to happen. In fact i am thinking it might be permanent. Why spend more on labor if you can work your current labor to the max and then some.

We’re getting a raise to $14/hr here in Indiana in October

I mean, this one. It’s frustrating the way the atmosphere has changed. Because of the whole fast food thing, my store smells AWFUL. Plus, we’re extremely short staffed (like everyone else) so we’re stuck trying to manage cleaning and the insane amount of cars we get. I’m a shift and the only person who really cleans. It’s so unfortunate. The smells make most of my coworkers sick to our stomachs. FFFFFF frappachinos dudes
