At starbucks if it’s a latte or something similar (like a flat white or cappuccino) it would mean that the shots are added on top instead of at the bottom, which would make the steamed milk fill the cup along with the syrup and the shots would sit on top or be separate, as opposed to mixed together like when they’re on the bottom and the milk is added second. Hope this makes sense. So an upside down latte would be a macchiato and vice versa basically. When customers get their caramel macchiatos with a straw, I’ll ask if they mix it up and if so, then I recommend ordering it upside down and we’ll still put the drizzle on top.
