I’m tired of being overworked (a rant) (self.starbucksbaristas)

Over the past month or so, I’ve been working 9-11 hour days. I don’t get my 10 minute breaks and there was one day that I didn’t get my lunch. I missed my first two days of school because “there wasn’t anyone else who could work.” I’m always working overtime, getting yelled at by customers, and being pressed way more to achieve drive times. I’ve only been a shift for two weeks or so. Prior to now, I used to love my job. But, this on top of continued harassment is really stressing me out. I don’t know if I need to take an LOA, quit or what, but yeah, I am losing it. My SM won’t listen to me and thinks I can do it all despite me conversations with them.

Anyone else feel this way right now? Any thoughts on how to find ways to manage this?

Don't let them beat you into putting school second! They need to understand that school is #1 and there will be no compromise there. Very messed up on their part. If no one else can work then that's the SM and DM's fault, not you

Don’t skip school because no one else can work. School means you can’t work either. I’ve been in that situation before and it does not end well when you skip classes for this reason.

Take your breaks. The store will survive.

"No one else can work" is not your problem even though they want you to buy into that. Its a multi Billion dollar corporation, you not work will make no difference. High School or College, missing the first few days can really make things go sideways fast. You deserve better!!!
