We are having quite the discourse at my store, is the pumpkin spice pump supposed to be like the cold bar pumps (half pumps) or like the hot bar pumps (full pump)?
Currently it’s a cold bar pump.

Yea it just doesn’t seem like it’s enough

You should be doing full dose pumps of pumpkin, so 2/3/4/5 for hot lattes, 3/4/6 for iced lattes, and 1/2/2 for the frappuccinos.

You should have received a separate pump just for pumpkin spice, with its own gaging collar
cadmus189011 points1y ago
The spelling really sent my mind elsewhere
hellopie76 points1y ago
Is it **Supposed** to be called and pronounced "GAGING collar"?
isthispassionpit21 points1y ago
No, it’s *gauging*, as in measuring the amount dispensed.

A couple of years ago they stopped auto shipping pumpkin spice pumps and the stores are supposed to retrofit the extra WM pumps with the PSL gauges. It is very small amount compared to most other sauces.

This is the best right answer

How is there discourse if it literally has it owns pump

If we have a shortage of pumkin spice so help me.

I was curious about that too. I thought it used to be like the white mocha one but now it’s like dark caramel. Given everyone is saying we are sent a pump just for it, I wonder if they’re decreasing the amount of pumpkin sauce that goes into drinks to help keep it in stock, and if the sauce recipe has been changed to support this (or if I’m nuts and it’s not different). I don’t want 4000 Karens telling me I made it wrong just because Starbucks is being stingy.

I had one and it tasted different to me than it usually does

There are 2 different guaging collars. The one like WM is for hot bar, for the lattes and whatnot. The other one is for cold bar, because it uses a half dose pump for the people making cream and fraps. If you only have the hot bar pump, just use the 1/2/3 rule.
Saradigm1 points1y ago
Well yeah but its weird that we mostly use pumpkin for lattes but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t give us the hot bar one
annoyinglyuseless4 points1y ago
Ours is currently set as a cold bar pump and that’s how we’ve been using it. No complaints yet. But some of us older baristas keep saying it’s not right. Our sm doesn’t care enough to listen though..

I've been using it like a cold bar pump, just following the 2-3-4 ratio. And if it is too much, most folks don't mind enough to say anything.
