Local Coffee shops, Rise Up!! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by HotDogClouds
I hope that whoever in corporate is making these decisions gets the huge amount of hell fire coming to them. Because baristas are pouring out the doors, soon they will have no one to run their stores. And that's if the customers don't stop coming first. Many regulars come to sit and have a nice cup of coffee with their friends, sit down with a whole group, or come there for a nice place to get away from their house to a calming atmosphere with amazing smells to get their work done. And that's just the atmosphere, I haven't even gotten to them discontinuing many favorites or good items that customers love.

Local coffee shops, now is your chance to take back your towns. Starbucks has gotten far to big for its britches and is fucking up in so many major ways. Poach their tired baristas and treat them right, and those baristas will have other baristas flooding to your doorstep with applications in hand. And the regulars who love to see those baristas when they discover they are all gone will come to your store to visit them, and maybe they might even make your store their new Starbucks. But those regulars will tell others about how good your place is, and all the sudden your local Starbucks is closed and your shop is thriving. Take back our space and cleanse it of that horrid, capitalistic, no shits given corporation.

You should definitely post this to other subs too, you're kind of preaching to the choir in this one and if you want to get the word out you're better off trying others too

If you’re unhappy quit.
BatWeary 20 points 1y ago
people are, why do you think there’s such a high turnover rate?
rio8envy7 -21 points 1y ago
We’ve always had a high turnover rate. You realize this is because of covid right? Like things weren’t this bad before the pandemic.

I had to quit because I'm allergic to the vanilla syrup and hives spread all over me. Also what the hell are you talking about? This was happening long before the pandemic, and it's getting worse during the pandemic because of two things. One: the obvious one that's affecting everyone, COVID. Two: Starbucks is essentially giving partners the finger right now. The stores are scrambling to get items they need to make popular and common drinks, Starbucks is releasing the fall drinks far too early and adding more strain on partners that could be easily alleviated by releasing the drinks in the proper season, new people coming in to fill the partners that are dropping like flies do not get trained right ( due to there being an overall lack of experience among the current staff and the fact that they change the recipes so much everyone makes that drink a different way and none of them are right and not even the recipe card is right because they didn't send the new one yet. Oh, not to mention the fact that they say you get trained on everything but they pretty much look at you and decide what they will train you the most at and not train you on anything else for many months even if you ask.) , they are cutting down the amount of people allowed on the floor at one time but increasing the workload, AND in the middle of a pandemic with a strain that has mutated to be more infectious and severe they say to every partner (including vaccinated ones) and say "Sooooo you guys are gonna have to keep wearing those masks but don't make the customers wear any because wE doN't wAnT tO puT tHEm thRouGh thAT agAin."

Also why do you think that constantly having a high turnover rate is a good thing?! And in case my point got lost in the other post, the turn over rate has always been this bad. Everyone is just noticing it now because of the Pandemic. Now they are applying the thought that maybe the pandemic is so stressful to be going through that it's reasonable for people to be dropping so fast. Typically before when people were dropping quickly it was brushed off as them being weak and unwilling to do a good job, or something to do with workplace drama. It did not get registered in their minds as "Holy shit this job is stressful as hell and it's so bad those people are leaving because of it."

Don't bother fighting to hard here, there's a butt load of corporate accounts on Reddit and they change often. They are easy to spot ^
