i don’t care if you really need your “coffee fix” i’m not going to open the door for you if we’re closed. (self.starbucksbaristas)

So our store is cafe and drive thru and we recently closed our cafe bc someone got covid and only a few of us can work. so we’re open drive thru only and closed our cafe. we turned mobile orders off and put up signs everywhere at the speaker, at the window, and at the doors and windows. it’s been like that for a week already and we even put those flyers up before hand. So we close at 6 and there was 4 of us closing today plus another 2 coworkers that were off the clock chilling in our cafe area. We were rudely interrupted by a lady who kept banging on the windows then finally got inside her car and drove off. a few minutes later she calls our store asking why we’re closed, we say “we’re a little bit short staffed this week so we had to close early” And she really says, “There’s 6 of you in there why aren’t you guys open” 😑 so we respond with “well a few of us are off the clock and i can’t make people work 12 hours “ so then she says “okay well i need your name and the corporate number” so we gave it to her an apologized for the inconvenience . God i fucking hate these types of people man

This happened to me recently but we were closed, I was doing tills, and because I refused to help her... my DM refused my request to transfer out of my store because I need to work on my customer service skills.

She expected me to reopen tills and help her 15 min after close. 😂

Was she real??? Next time call her to work after hours if she thinks it’s ok.

Dead serious...until I showed her the standard in the safety and security manual. 😂😂

Reminds me of when our café seating was still closed due to covid and these people tried to sit down and after my SSV Told them our city is closed they pointed to my coworker on her 15 and asked why she can sit and my SSV told them she works here and is allowed to.

Honestly if someone on the phone asked for my name and corporate’s number, I’d hang up. Especially since they were being rude

ESPECIALLY if we're already closed. There's not even an obligation to answer the phone, that's just a courtesy. You're getting hung up on and I'm not picking it up again.

I haven't worked at sbux for more than six years at this point and I still occasionally have dreams where I'm working a closing shift and thought I locked the door but people keep coming in all night long. Can't even imagine working there now though

We closed our cafe earlier this week and we had 8 people surrounding the door like fucking vultures (mind you they all had vehicles and the sign on the door clearly stated drive thru was still open). There were 3 of us working and 2 people were soon to leave, only for the closing shift and 2 baristas to come in. so we were pretty screwed over regardless. all of us who worked that day ended up with shifts that were 9hours or longer.

On the one hand, she doesn’t know the other partners in the lobby are off the clock, but the customer also didn’t need to still be nasty after getting a reasonable explanation.
